Shady Police boat honeypot. There are no rules posted on the lake, and the staff will not inform you of them either. I had to ask for a life vest with my rental, and thankfully I did, otherwise I would have received a $300 ticket like nearly everyone else on the lake (I know this because the Police bragged about it while harassing me). If the police here are going to make their money off of enforcing unspoken or unposted rules, then I will not be coming back.
Did not care for this campground at all. Very poorly laid out, most campsites do not have a level place for r.v., or even close.
Management (Hoodoo) doing a terrible job, trash dumpsters were overflowing, on a Wednesday, host is pretty much non existent. After we got settled in over 30 people in 9 vehicles occupied the two spots next to use. They said they do it every year as this is the only campground that will allow it. Cars parked off road in between sites, and on road. Although we had a multi day reservation, we had to leave after one night.
Very family friendly. Great lake, the camp sites near to the camp host have little to no wind, sites further out get more windy. Great day use area for kids and adults alike. We stayed in a yurt, no electricity but had a small fireplace. You can gather free wood at the campground, so bring a saw. The resort nearby rents boats, jet skis and other non mechanical water toys. Also has a small store with essentials. Live music on the weekends during the summer at the restaurant.
Very rustic but comfortable. Love to views.
